The project samba4WINS is about the replicating WINS server. SerNet started this project because of many requests from corporate and public customers in late 2005.
Sponsors of the initial project are Computacenter, Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC) and the LiSoG e.V.. SerNet funds the further development after the first release.
The new WINS server has been developed using the Samba 4 framework. Binary packages are available for SLES9, RHEL4 and Debian Sarge during the first week of February 2006.
Please regard this work as a subject of rapid development. The software may contain bugs.
